Who we work with
Business owners
About Business clients
Our business clients are located in over 50 countries around the globe including the UK, throughout the EU, USA, Australia, and Canada.
Business currency exchange services
- Receiving funds from their overseas clients.
- Making payments to overseas suppliers of goods and services.
- Making salary/pension/dividend payments to overseas staff and shareholders.
- Imports.
- Exports.
- Facilitating payments to and from overseas offices.
- Commercial property transactions which include buying, selling, leasing, refurbishment and overhead costs.
- Reducing a business client's accountancy bill by ensuring they do not have to run a multitude of currency accounts in their name. Instead, a business based in any of the countries we service can simply register with Cosmos and gain access to over 35 currency accounts based in the UK, plus a EUR account based in the EU, a US Dollar account based in the USA and a Canadian Dollar based inside Canada without the need to operate their own multi-currency accounts.

Typical challenges for business clients
First, they end up navigating their way through the international banking system. With the vast majority of banks, brokers and apps all pushing clients to self-servicing on a tech-only platform, it can be bewildering for any client to avoid the many pitfalls in the international banking system.
Even simple questions like ‘What info do I need to make a payment to…?’ or ‘What is the best payment system to use when receiving funds from…’ have a multitude of often contradictory information available on the net.
Secondly, it is a struggle to get the timing of their currency transfers as right as possible in order to minimize the cost of currency payments and maximise the return from currency receipts. With currency exchange rates changing every 3 seconds night and day (that is 28,800 changes every 24 hours) even if a client had all the time in the world to sit and monitor the markets, how many would know what to look for? That is not to suggest that even an experienced currency broker can ‘read’ the market’. Not at all. What Cosmos can do for you is to use the information gained from our ‘Discovery call’ with a client to know that client’s exact requirements, instead of the usual ‘one size fits all’ approach of the mainstream banks, brokers, and apps. Cosmos will then monitor the markets to alert clients to opportunities.
Whilst only with the benefit of hindsight does anyone get the timing exactly right, there are trends in the market that, with experience, can be identified and used to a client’s advantage.
Preventing mistakes and saving you time
The main pitfalls of not using a service like Cosmos are: firstly incurring unnecessary costs when dealing with the international banking system.
For example, in these post-Brexit days, if you use the dominant global SWIFT payment system to send a Euro payment out to an EU-based account for a UK-based client, it incurs landing fees when the funds arrive in the designated account. The Cosmos solution? Because of the information we gain from our client Discovery Call, where we know we will send EUR funds out to an EU-based EUR bank account for a UK client, we will always send the funds via SEPA, the EU’s own payment system. Even post-Brexit, this will insure 100% of the funds sent will arrive in the selected account without any landing fees being incurred.
Secondly, we are all busy. Most clients will not have the time or expertise to monitor the markets. Even if they did, with most banks, brokers and apps employing fully automated systems, funds received today will be processed today, regardless of current market conditions. At Cosmos, we use the information from our client Discovery Call to know the individual client’s requirements, including their timeframe. We can then monitor the markets to get the timing of the currency transfer as right as possible to minimise client costs and maximise client returns.

Typical challenges for personal clients
Like our business clients, personal clients also have to navigate their way through the international banking system.

Preventing mistakes and saving you time
The main pitfalls of not using a service like Cosmos are firstly, incurring unnecessary costs when dealing with the international banking system.
For example, a UK or an EU-based client decides to put their property in Florida, USA on the market for sale, agrees on terms with the estate agents and go back home. The property sale completes, and the closing agent wires the USD proceeds to the client’s local US Dollar account in the USA. The UK or EU-based client then wants to repatriate the funds back ‘home’ to convert them to their home currency.
The problem?
Online banking in the USA does exist, at least with the major banks but only works domestically, so repatriating dollar funds back to an account in the UK or within the EU is only possible by the client physically going to their local branch in Florida, but the client is already back home in the UK or the EU.
How can Cosmos help?
Once that client registers with Cosmos, they gain access to our local US Dollar client collection account based in New York. Once the property sale completes, the closing agents can wire the funds directly to our local US Dollar client collection account in the USA. As this is a domestic transfer, it can be done online so that the client does not have to incur the cost of travelling back to Florida just to deal with the funds’ transfer. We then safely collect the client funds and again, because of the information gained from our client Discovery Call, we are fully aware of the client’s chosen timeframe and can monitor the markets to alert a client to opportunities that arise within their chosen timeframe, maximising the return in Pounds Sterling or Euros from the sale of the US Dollar property sale proceeds at an opportune moment.
Charities
About our charity clients
We can assist registered charitable organizations located throughout the 50+ countries around the globe including the UK, throughout the EU, USA, Australia, and Canada that we regularly deal with.
Charity currency exchange services
- Payments to charity overseas offices.
- Salary.
- Office overhead payments.
- Payments to partner organisations of our registered charity.
- Property maintenance payments.

Typical challenges for charities
Minimising costs so they can maximise the impact of their donations is of primary importance for the charity sector. Particular difficulties arise with charities involved in sending donations to parts of the world that are less than well-served by the international banking sector.
Charities involved with projects in the developing world can be particularly hard hit with additional compliance and regulatory overhead burden and incur additional banking and funds transfer fees.
This is in addition to the usual problems faced by business and personal clients in knowing how to navigate their way through the complexities of the international banking system and trying to get the timing of a transfer as right as possible to minimise costs.
Preventing mistakes and saving you time
In addition to the usual pitfalls that befall any business or personal client when dealing with banks, online brokers and payment apps, registered charities dealing with the developing world can incur hefty, additional banking charges and costs, and sometimes have to resort to using second tier providers if their bank ‘blanket bans’ sending funds to various countries.
With Cosmos, the only countries we do not deal with are sanctioned countries. No one can deal with a sanctioned country. Anywhere else, we will access each situation on a case-by-case basis. That often enables us to help our registered charity clients send funds to parts of the world including Africa, South America, and South-East Asia where banks, online brokers, and apps will usually decline in totality.
