The world is not short of currency payment services.

You have the banks; the online apps; the main-stream brokers.

It’s a crowded and very competitive marketplace, especially in the UK where the London market is responsible for over 40% of global trading. Yes, in the currency markets, London dwarves New York; Shanghai; Paris and Berlin and in the UK, the banks share of the currency market is less than 50%.

So, what possessed me to start my own brokerage after a successful career working for various banks and brokerages for 35 years?

And in 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic!

The idea had been brewing for a while.

In a nutshell, I saw a gap in the market.

When I started in the City of London in 1985, there were no computers and no internet. Business was done the only way business had been done for hundreds of years.

By people talking with people.

Then in the recession of 1992, millions of hours of accumulated knowledge and experience was culled when the banks introduced overseas call centres.

Then came computers and the internet and the whole financial services industry and specially the currency markets moved completely away from the traditional relationship-based business models to only offer clients transaction-based self-service tech only answers.

You know the one, “Computer says NO!”

And even if the computer does say yes, it’s a purely reactive business model because the rate of exchange in the currency markets between the 175 currencies available around the globe change value every 3 seconds.

That is 28,800 changes every 24 hours. However quick the algorithm, all its going to tell you is that at this moment in time, the rate of exchange between currency A and currency B is C. The client either accepts it or doesn’t.
